Summer 2017 was great! Lots of fun in the Sun, spending time with friends and family, travel, etc. It was great, until the weather got involved!
Florida is a beautiful place to live, awesome beaches, lots of attractions and things to do. I love South Florida but not the Hurricanes!
So in just 2 weeks of worrying about Hurricane’s Harvey, Irma, Maria, preparing for their arrival, buying water, pulling shudders, moving my entire container garden inside and of course, losing power- that is No Air-Conditioning…. After all this I have gained 15 lbs.!
Sure don’t blame the weather but it seems the best way (for me) to assuage fears of being washed away for eternity is eating whatever I can get my hands on! Now, reality has set in and I have been fashionably getting along with leggings and skirts and dresses-that stretch!
My plans to be a Beach Body Babe may end up as a beached whale if I don’t do something fast!

Intermittent Fasting has been on my mind lately as it works really well with a fitness plan, especially strength training. Intermittent fasting (or “IF”) is an interval eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. It has been popular for a few years and has research to back it up. Intermittent Fasting works because it causes your body to go into ketosis .
What is Ketosis? Ketosis is a normal metabolic process. When the body does not have enough glucose for energy, it burns stored fats instead. Body builders and athletes swear by this type of fasting as it produces a lean body, and you get to eat. A lot. I love to eat!
